Disappointing Books
Just finished The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. I thought the book held tremendous potential, but the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel lost my interest.
I also found Cory Doctorow's new book Maker's disappointing. That's surprising, as I thought his last novel, Little Brother, was outstanding. There may well be nothing wrong with Maker's plot, character development or themes; I just never felt connected to the characters the way I did reading Little Brother, which pulled me in from the start. I suspect the suspension of belief required in Maker's simply accelerated too quickly, at least for me.
