Louisville Chose Well When Selecting Strong

A few weeks ago I suggested Texas Tech football coach Mike Leach could be a great fit for the Cardinals. Today it's apparent Leach is far from being a worthy candidate. Charlie Strong is an outstanding choice. Let's just hope we can keep him.

Disappointing Books

Just finished The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. I thought the book held tremendous potential, but the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel lost my interest.

I also found Cory Doctorow's new book Maker's disappointing. That's surprising, as I thought his last novel, Little Brother, was outstanding. There may well be nothing wrong with Maker's plot, character development or themes; I just never felt connected to the characters the way I did reading Little Brother, which pulled me in from the start. I suspect the suspension of belief required in Maker's simply accelerated too quickly, at least for me.
