Northern Flicker
While eating dinner tonight a Northern Flicker visited the feeders by our back window. Even though these woodpeckers are supposed to be present year-round in Kentucky, it seems we only see them in the very early spring. They're quite colorful birds, with a mix of black scallop plummage, yellow tinted bellies and prominent black bibs.
